George Helmuth

GEORGE B. HELMUTH, 63, of Arthur, IL passed away at 5:15 P.M. on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at his residence in rural Arthur, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the family residence, 284 North County Road 200 East, Arthur, IL. Bishop Omer A. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in rural Arcola, IL. Visitation will be any time prior to the funeral at the family residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting George’s family with funeral arrangements.

George was born on November 5, 1945 in rural Arthur, IL. He was a son of Benjamin “B.J.K.” and Edna G. (Marner) Helmuth. He married Lorene J. Miller on May 8, 1975 in Arthur, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Helmuth; seven children, Daniel Helmuth, at home, Rose Anna Mast and her husband Alton of Arcola, IL, Mary Edna Helmuth of Marion, MI, Katie Marie Helmuth, Johnny G. Helmuth, James G. Helmuth and Samuel G. Helmuth all at home; four granddaughters, Rhoda Elaine, Marilyn Kay, Rebekah Ann and Lisa Marie Mast all of Arcola, IL; one brother, Benjamin Jr. “JB” Helmuth and his wife Alta (Chupp) of Arthur, IL; six step-brothers and three step-sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Sarah Mae (Chupp) Helmuth.

George was owner of B.J.K. Helmuth and Son Engine Repair Shop and he was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
