GERALD SNOKE, 74, of Decatur, IL formerly of Argenta, IL, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at McKinley Court Nursing Home in Decatur, IL.
Gerald was born on April 27, 1933 in rural Macon County. He was the son of Irvin and Mary (Dillow) Snoke. He married Shirley Grubbs on August 16, 1953 in Decatur, IL. She passed away on June 23, 2006.
He is survived by one daughter Marla Reynolds and her husband Bill of Decatur, IL; three sons, Russell Snoke and his wife Jamie of Decatur, IL, Kenneth Snoke and his wife Cheryl of Evansville, IN and Mark Snoke and his wife Jennifer of Decatur, IL; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
His parents, his stepfather Carroll Rice and one son Jerry Lee Snoke preceded him in death.
Gerald was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a long time member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Decatur, IL.
Gerald retired from A.E. Staley in 1978 and from farming in 2000. He attended many farm shows where he enjoyed showing and seeing antique tractors. Gerald and his wife moved to Decatur from Argenta in 2000. Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always enjoyed attending Staley Retiree's monthly luncheons.
The Snoke family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Shackelford, the nurses on the sixth floor at St. Mary's Hospital and the McKinley Court Nursing Home staff.
