Geraldine Goodwin

Geraldine Goodwin, 88 of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:25 A.M. Friday, September 18, 2009 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 21, 2009 at the French Cemetery in Allenville, IL. Rev. Jess Adams will officiate. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Geraldine was born on January 5, 1921 in Shelbyville, IL. She was a daughter of Joseph and Edna (Smith) Runkel. She married Ralph Goodwin on December 30, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. He passed away in February of 1981.

Geraldine is survived by one daughter, Edna Maye “Boots” Clemons of Clewiston, FL; three grandchildren, Mike Jaco of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Pat Jaco and wife Lisa of Robinsville, NC and Melanie Bulkley and husband Steve of Clewiston, FL; five great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Kline Runker and Burnell Runkel.

Geraldine worked in the garment industry for many years. She was also a member of the Odd-Fellow Rebekahs in Mattoon.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arthritis Association.
