Harvey Farmwald

HARVEY D. FARMWALD, 83 of Sullivan, IL passed away at 10:00 P.M. Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Graber Building Supply, 1743 Jonathon Creek Road, Sullivan, IL. Bishop William Otto officiated. Burial was in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation was any time prior to the funeral at Graber Building Supply. The Edwards funeral Home assisted Harvey’s family with arrangements.

Harvey was born on June 8, 1927 in Moultrie County, IL. He was a son of David D. and Nancy (Mast) Farmwald. He married Katie Ann Kemp on December 13, 1956 in rural Arcola, IL.

Survivors include his wife Katie Ann of Sullivan, IL; four sons, David and his wife Irene of Arthur, IL, Steve and his wife Leona, John and his wife Dorothy and Philip and his wife Treva all of Sullivan, IL; two daughters, Ruth Diener and her husband Nelson of Arthur, IL and Esther Yoder and her husband LaVern of Arcola, IL; twenty-five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one sister Lizzie Ann Troyer of Mountain Grove, MO

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Andrew, William, Levi and Toby Farmwald and one sister, Esther Keim.

Harvey was retired from farming and he was working at Graber Building Supply.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
