HAZEL COLCLASURE, 90, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Arcola, IL passed away at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Hazel was born May 29, 1920 in Riverton, Wyoming. She was a daughter of William and Anna Forfang Warren. She married Richard Colclasure in 1940. He passed away in 1986.
Survivors include her daughter Lana Nelson-Stone and her husband Ray of Decatur, IL; one grandson David Nelson and his wife Lisa of St. Louis, MO; one great-granddaughter Samantha McFarland of Auburn; two sisters Genny Richmond of St. Louis, MO and Catharine Daniels and her husband Gene of Tuscola, IL and three brothers Bob Warren and Jim Warren and his wife Nancy all of Fairfield and Curt Warren and his wife Tina of Newark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years, two brothers, baby boy Galen and Jack Warren and two sisters, Margaret Warren and Betty Current.
Mrs. Colclasure was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church, she was its first female Lay Leader, a District Officer, Trustee, and Board Member, member of the Finance and two Building Committees, and past president of the UMW. She served on the Board of Cunningham Children’s Home in Champaign, was a past president of the Arcola Woman’s Club, a member of the Eagle’s Lodge of Mattoon and served as an Election Judge. Hazel and her husband Richard owned and operated the Western Auto store in Arcola for 25 years.
Hazel was dedicated to her family and to her church, serving both with love. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and games, entertaining family and friends at Lake Paradise and spending time with her special people.
She had been a resident at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur for the past years and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
