Herminia Dolores Valdez Montalvo, born on March 26, 1931, in Cadereyta Jimenez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, at her daughter's residence in Humboldt, IL. Surrounded by her loving family, Herminia's final moments were a testament to the profound love and connection she cultivated throughout her life.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola, IL. Father Michael Trummer will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Panteon Municipal Cemetery in Cadereyta, Mexico.

Herminia worked as a switch board operator many years ago in Mexico, a role that showcased her remarkable communication skills and dedication to service. A devout member of the Catholic Church in Cadereyta, Mexico, she nurtured her spiritual life with unwavering faith, which guided her through the many seasons of her life.

Family was the cornerstone of Herminia’s existence. She is survived by her four children: Juventino Rodriguez Valdez and his wife Maria Adriana Leal, Juan Enrique Rodriguez Valdez, Martha Patricia Garcia, and Gerardo Rodriguez Valdez and his wife Maria Cristina Campos along with Gabriela S. Garza and her husband Julio Cesar Garza. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who carry forward the warmth and love she so generously shared.

Herminia enjoyed embroidering, knitting, and cooking delicious meals for her family, often filling her home with the comforting aromas of the food she prepared. Gardening brought her joy, and she cherished the simple beauty of a well-cared for garden. Known for her spirited nature, she always loved to sing and dance, bringing light and joy to those around her.

Herminia Dolores Valdez Montalvo will be remembered for her deep devotion to family, her kind spirit, and her vibrant love for life. Her legacy will undoubtedly live on through the cherished memories held by those she touched and the lessons of love and kindness she imparted to her family.
