JACOB D. SCHROCK, 80, of Arthur, IL passed away at 4:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his residence in rural Arthur, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the HCK West Building, 2008 CR 1800 East, one mile south of Arthur, IL. Bishop Ervin Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be held any time after 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the HCK West Building, rural Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Jacob was born on March 9, 1934 in rural Arthur, IL. He was a son of Daniel J. and Nancy (Schlabach) Schrock. He married Katie Mast on November 10, 1955 in rural Arthur, IL. She passed away on April 5, 2000. He later married Nancy Kaufman on May 15, 2002 in rural Arthur, IL.
Jacob is survived by his wife Nancy Schrock; six children, Richard Schrock and his wife Verba (Jess) of Arthur, IL, Jo Ann Gingerich and her husband Clarence of Dixon, KY, Carolyn Miller and her husband Willard of Arcola, IL, Jerry Schrock and his wife Julie (Sonnenburg) of Sarasota, FL, Glenn Schrock of Sapphire, NC and Kenneth Schrock of Sarasota, FL; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren; five brothers, Henry Schrock and his wife Esta of Sarasota, FL, Edwin Schrock and his wife Viola of Arcola, IL, Daniel Schrock and his wife Dena of Cuba, IL, Sam Schrock and his wife Susie of Tuscola, IL, and Jerry Schrock and his wife Magdalena of Kalona, IA; two sisters, Martha Yoder and her husband Lonnie of Arthur, IL and Elizabeth Ann Beachy and her husband Roy of Kalona, IA; two sister-in-law, Edna Schrock and Lizzie Ann Schrock both of Arthur, IL; three step-brothers, Simon Yoder and his wife Mary Susan, Reuben Yoder and Dennis Yoder and his wife Judy all of Kalona, IA and four step-sisters, Ida Yoder of Kalona, IA, Anna Mae Coblentz and her husband Lester of Princeton, KY, Nina Bontrager and her husband William of Millersburg, IN and Emma Yoder and her husband Cephas of Kalona, IA
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Katie (Mast) Schrock a daughter-in-law, Dorothy (Plank) Schrock, two grandsons, four brothers, three step-brothers and four step-sisters.
Jacob was the former owner of Pineview Woodworking in rural Arthur, IL and he was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
