JAKE D. SHETLER, 73 years, 3 months, and 2 days, of Arthur, IL passed away at 09:34 A.M. on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 6, 2021, at the Otto Center in Arthur, IL.  Bishop Daniel M. Chupp will officiate.  Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery.  Visitation will be held any time after 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 6, 2021, and any time after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, all at the Otto Center in Arthur, IL.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Jake was born on May 3, 1948, in Kalona, IA, a son of Daniel J. and Lovina (Hochstetler) Shetler.   He married Barbara Ellen Otto on March 16, 1972, in Tuscola, IL.  They lived in Holy Matrimony for 49 years, 4 months, 20 days.

Jake is survived by his wife Barbara; four children, Andy Ray Shetler and his wife Dixie (Smith) of Greenfield, IN, Lonnie Jay Shetler and his wife Margaret (Miller) of Arthur, IL, Miriam Marie Hostetler and her husband Raymond of Tuscola, IL, and Daniel Lee Shetler and his wife Jessica (Hites) of Urbana, OH; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Shetler Jr. and his wife JoAnn of Indianapolis, IN, Joe Shetler and his wife Rachelle of Kalona, IA and two sisters, Martha Miller and her husband Harlan of Croften, KY and Lovina Marie Bontrager and her husband Mel of Hicksville, OH

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Lovina Shetler, one sister, Mandy Ann Shetler and one stepbrother, David Schwarts.

Jake was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
