James Robert "Jim" Allen Sr.

James Robert “Jim” Allen Sr., 70, of Arthur, IL passed away at 5:19 AM on Monday, December 30, 2024 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Edwards Funeral Home. 

Jim was born on November 30, 1954 in Joliet, IL. He was a son of James Edward and Frances (Frost) Allen. 

He is survived by two sons, James Robert “Hank” Allen Jr. and his wife Kelly of Arthur, IL, and Derrill Joe Allen and his wife Cynthia of Atwood, IL, two stepsons, Derrick Jackson and his wife Jessica of Plant City, FL, and Brandon Jackson of Arthur, IL, seven grandchildren, James III, Derrill Jr., Shyann, Madison, Trinton, Jordan and Skyler, eight great grandchildren, Everliegh, Lincoln, James IV, Sawyer, Rhys, Jaxson, Joan and Cannon, five sisters, Beverly Graham and her husband Eddie of Waverly, TN, Connie Voss of Alabama, Alice Peeler and her husband Bobby of Arthur, IL, Vanessa Bishop of Dickson, TN and Holly Rosendo and her husband Javier of Dickson, TN, and his companion and mother of his children for the past 17 years, Lesa Allen. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Allen and Steve Allen and one sister, Bonnie Joseph.

Jim had worked at Schrock Dry Wall for over 20 years and Classic Marbel in Arthur for several years and retired in 2015.

He enjoyed having a good time, going to the beach at Lake Shelbyville, watching NASSCAR, Dale Ernhart being one of his favorites, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
