JANE INGRAM, 88, of Oakland, IL passed away at 5:25 A.M. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Arthur Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, in Arcola, IL. Rev. Tony Crouch will officiate. Burial will be in the VanVoorhis Cemetery in Hindsboro, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
Jane was born on April 28, 1924 in Coles County, IL. She was a daughter of Thomas Enoch and Helen (Clapp) Porter.
She is survived by one son, Robert Ingram and his wife Rita of Oakland; two daughters, Marty Clapp and her husband Richard of Villa Grove, IL and Patty Stark and her husband David of Oakland, IL; four grandchildren, David Willison of Maryland, Heather Miller of Charleston, IL, Ryan Stark of Oakland, IL and Matthew Stark and his wife Elvi of Charleston, IL two great-grandchildren, Sydney Davis and Andrew John Willison and one step-great-grandchild, Marlena Henley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Barbara LeGrand, one grandson, John Glenn Willison, one sister, Josephine Stephens and five brothers, Tom, Walt, Roy, Percy and Don Porter.
Jane had been a member of the Greasy Point Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School. She had also been a member of the Coles County Farm Bureau.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and baking. She always supported the Chili Suppers held at the Oakland High School and was well known for her pies and cakes.
Jane had worked at the Hill Crest Café in Oakland for eight years. She retired from Eastern Illinois University with over twenty five years of service. She worked as a cook having served in all of the halls at EIU.
Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice or Pennies for Play Ground in care of Oakland School District.
