Janet Crist

Janet Crist, 88, of Atwood, IL passed away at 4:14 AM on Monday, April 21, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the United Church of Atwood, 210 North Main St., Atwood, IL. Rev. Mike Drake will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mackville Cemetery in Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Janet was born on January 14, 1937 in Atwood, IL. She was the daughter of Leo Franklin and Mary Margaret (Stirrett) Harshbarger. She married Glen A. Crist on April 5, 1957 in Atwood, IL. He passed away on August 23, 2019.

She is survived by two children, Richard Crist and his wife Ericka, Linda Dyer and her husband Joe, all of Atwood, IL, three grandchildren, Samantha Crist, Zane Crist and Hunter Dyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Glen Crist.

Janet was a member of the United Church of Atwood, IL. She retired from Schrock Cabinet Factory in Arthur, IL as a painter.

Janet loved raising roses and working in her flower beds. She also loved helping out at Crist Orchards.

She loved to travel with her family, Washington DC, New Hampshire, New York, and Minnesota just to name a few of the places they have visited. Janet always loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
