Jayce Joseph Johnson

Jayce Joseph Johnson, 14 of Charleston, IL passed away at 8:40 PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at The Home Church in Charleston, IL.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at The Home Church on Saturday prior to the funeral. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Jayce was born on March 21, 2008 in Mattoon, IL.  He was a son of Eric Joseph Johnson and Cindy Jo Layton. 

He is survived by his parents, Eric Johnson and Cindy Layton one brother, Cameron Lee Johnson, all of Charleston, IL, one sister, Ashley Rose Knapp of Milwaukee, WI, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Carol Layton, paternal grandparents, Raymond Leroy and Carol Ann Johnson, uncle, Tracy Leroy Johnson and a stillborn uncle, Joseph Layton.

Jayce attended Bridges School in Lerna, IL.  He loved making TikTok videos and snapchats.  He had a love for animals and was especially fond of horses.

Jayce was very outgoing, he tried to help everyone he came in contact with.  He was a ray of sunshine.

Memorials may be made to Edwards Funeral Home to help pay for funeral expenses.
