JO YORK, 69, of Charleston, IL formerly of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:33 A.M. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.
Jo was born on January 21, 1942 in Jackson County, TN. She was a daughter of Oscar and Lucille (Cherry) Wilson. She married Robert York on March 21, 1961 in Charleston, IL.
She is survived by her husband Robert York of Charleston, IL; seven children, Darlene Hutchinson of Mattoon, IL, Robert York of Champaign, Rick York and his wife Melody of Arcola, IL, Kerry York of Sadorus, IL, Audra Pullen and her husband Rick of Arthur, IL, Martha Koons and her husband Tom of Neoga, IL and Mary Lindstrom of Arcola, IL; twenty two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Wilson and his wife Cathy of Humboldt, IL and four sisters, Jewell Vaughn and her husband Max of Scottsville, KY, June Haught and her husband Kenny of Charleston, IL Debbie Landreth and her husband Stan of Effingham, IL and Lee Ruphard and her husband Charles of New Hampshire.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Robbie Butler one grandson, Blake York and two son-in-laws Les Lindstrom and Bruce Hutchinson.
Jo retired from Trailmobile in Charleston, IL with over twenty years of service and later retired from Littelfuse in Arcola, IL with over six years of service.
She enjoyed painting, playing the piano, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
At Jo’s request, no formal services are being held. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
