JOHN RONALD “RON” CAIN, 72, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 1:15 A.M. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Visitation was held from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Edwards Funeral Home 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL. Burial was held on Nov 11, 2009 at the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Union County, Illinois.
Ron was born August 4, 1937 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of Pinckney Moses and Barbara Gertrude (Hummel) Cain. He married Carleen Pitts on July 16, 1955 in Arcola, IL.

Survivors include his wife Carleen Cain of Tuscola, IL; two brothers Clifford Cain and his wife Clara of Wolf Lake, IL and Collin “Cork” Cain and his wife Sue of Arcola, IL; two sisters Maxine Cox and her husband Bill and Shirley Schweighart and her special friend John Waldrop all of Tuscola, IL; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Junior Cain, Donald Cain and Calvin Cain.

Ron retired in 1987 as a Lab Technician from USI after 33 years of service. After retirement he worked as a Computer Repair Supervisor for several years over-seeing computer repairs for counties in Illinois. Later he worked for a CPA Firm out of Decatur. Ron was on the Board of Review for the Douglas County Assessors office. He and his wife Carleen owned and operated an Interior Decorating store in Tuscola. Ron was also an avid photographer.

Ron and Carleen played in the Aching Back String Band for several years. He played the Mandolin and she sang. Ron enjoyed all aspects of the computer. He also spent much of his time doing what he enjoyed and that was helping out his many friends and family members with anything they needed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials were sent to Arcola Lions Club or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
