John Clark Sr

JOHN R. CLARK SR., 76 of Champaign, IL passed away at 9:03 A.M. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, in Arcola, IL. Phil Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

John was born on January 15, 1941 in Mattoon, IL. He was a son of Francis E. and Elizabeth (Henton) Clark. He married Karen Sue Anderson on June 5, 1960 in Arcola, IL.

John is survived by his wife Sue; three children, John R. Clark Jr. and his wife Donna of Champaign, IL, Yvonne Nash and her husband Danny of Mountain View, AR and Teresa VonBehren and her husband Jon of Milford, IL; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother, William Clark and his wife Phyllis of Charleston, IL and one sister, Ann Clark of Mattoon, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Troy Lee Clark and two grandbabies, Breanna and Jacob VonBehren.

John had attended Grace Baptist Church in Urbana, IL.

John drove a concrete truck for Ron Kenny at Staley Concrete for over twenty years. He was a big NASCAR fan, Chicago Cub Fan and Fighting Illini fan. He enjoyed fishing, camping, collecting cars, train sets and Dickens Christmas Villages.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
