John Gingerich

JOHN E. GINGERICH, 75 of rural Tuscola, IL, passed away at 2:11 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at his residence.

John was born on March 4, 1933 in Douglas County, IL. He is the son of Emery C. and Lydia Ann (Schrock) Gingerich. He married Maggie S. Miller on April 8, 1954 in Douglas County, IL

He is survived by his wife Maggie Gingerich of Tuscola, IL; seven sons, Lester J. Gingerich and his wife Katie Viola of Arthur, Elmer Ray Gingerich and his wife Barbara Ellen of Sullivan, IL, Andrew Jay Gingerich and his wife Ruth of Arthur, IL, Emery Glen Gingerich and his wife Dorothy of Arcola, IL, Melvin Richard Gingerich and his wife Katie Marie of Arthur, IL, Paul Joseph Gingerich at home and Nelson Ray Gingerich and his wife Loretta Ann of Arthur, IL; four daughters, Annie Marie Yoder and her husband Eli of Arcola, IL, Mary Jane Miller and her husband Richard of Tuscola, IL, Kathryn Ann Diener and her husband Ernest of Arthur, IL and Dorothy Herschberger and her husband Paul of Arthur, IL; his mother Lydia Ann Gingerich of Arthur, IL; one brother Lester Gingerich and his wife Edith of Middleburry, IN; one sister Amanda Nisley and her husband Albert "Red" of Goshen, IN; 53 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, six grandsons and one great grandson.

John farmed for many years and retired from Bear Creek Truss Co. with over twenty years of service.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish.

Visitation will be held any time prior to the funeral service.

Bishop Ruben Stutzman will officiate.

Monday April 28, 2008 at Miller Cemetery

Burial will be held immediately following funeral service.
