JOHN SMITH, 60, of Oakland, IL passed away at 5:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Charleston, IL.

No formal services have been planned. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

John was born on September 2, 1952 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of Harvey Smith and Macel Chumbley. He married Cheryl Sievers on December 23, 1984 in Arcola, IL.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Smith of Oakland, IL, 1 daughter, Jennifer Smith of Charleston, IL; 1 sister, Linda Carroll; 1 brother, Jim Smith; 2 granddaughters, Chanel Smith and Julia Ray; 1 step daughter, Karie Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

John worked at Handles Inc. in Arcola, IL for over 20 years.
