Jonas Herschberger

Jonas D. Herschberger, 87, of rural Arthur, IL passed away at 11:10 A.M. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Adlai Miller residence, 1955 CR 1700 E., Arthur, IL.  Bishop Daniel Chupp will officiate.  Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Adlai Miller residence.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Jonas was born on July 7, 1932.  He was a son of John E. and Christena (Eash) Herschberger.  He married Edna L. Yoder on September 13, 1956 in Arthur, IL.  She passed away on May 22, 2011.

Survivors include two daughters, Arlene J. Miller and her husband Adlai B., and Louise J. Herschberger and her husband Lonnie E., one son, Nelson J. Herschberger and his wife Anna Marie (Miller) and one daughter-in-law, Ferne Herschberger of Arthur, IL, 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, one brother, Levi J.D. Herschberger, one sister, Emma Hostetler and one sister-in-law, Elmina Herschberger all of Arthur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Kenneth J. Herschberger, four grandchildren, Ray Olen Herschberger, Edna Miller, Lorene Miller, and Jerry Miller, two sisters, Amelia Bender, and a stillborn sister, three brothers, Jacob Herschberger, Mel Herschberger and an infant brother, Eli Herschberger.

Jonas was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
