Jonas Plank

JONAS J. PLANK, 83, of Arthur, IL passed away at 12:30 P.M. Sunday, August 8, 2010 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the Otto Center in rural Arthur, IL. Bishop Marion Miller will officiate. Burial will be at the Otto Cemetery. Visitation will be any time prior to the funeral at the Otto Center in rural Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Jonas was born June 10, 1927 in Plain City, Ohio, a son of John C. and Clara Helmuth Plank. He married Gertie Yutzy on October 14, 1948 in Arthur, IL.

He is survived by his wife Gertie Plank; six children, Louise Kauffman and her husband Dale of Arthur, IL, Millie Otto and her husband Erwin of Arthur, IL, Ferne Herschberger of Arthur, IL, Barbara Gingerich and her husband Elmer of Sullivan, IL, Marx Jay Plank and his wife Cathy of Arthur, IL, and LaDonna Schrock and her husband Dennis of Arthur, IL. One brother, Andy Plank of Michigan, seven-teen grandchildren, and twenty-nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, seven brothers, one son-in-law, two grandsons, and two great grand children.

Jonas was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
