Joni Plank

JONI PLANK, 88, of Arthur, IL passed away at 9:25 P.M. on Monday, February 27, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Melvin Hostetler residence, 120 E CR 100 N, Arthur, IL. Bishop Amos Bontrager will officiate. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in Arthur, IL. Visitation will be any time after 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Melvin Hostetler residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Joni was born on September 29, 1923 in Reno County, Kansas. He was a son of Joni T. and Mary (Borntreger) Plank. He married Anna Mast on December 7, 1944 in Arthur, IL. She passed away on April 3, 2010.

He is survived by four children, Carolyn Plank of Arthur, IL, Rosmary Yoder and her husband Eli of Arcola, IL, Sara Mae Stutzman and her husband Ervin of Sullivan, IL and Marlin J. Plank and his wife Edna Fern of Arthur, IL; twenty seven grandchildren and seventy great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ann Mast of Arthur, IL, Emma Overholt of Kalona, IA and Fannie Kauffman of Syracuse, IN; one sister-in-law, Leah Plank of Crofton, KY and one brother-in-law, Willis Miller of Milroy, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one great-granddaughter, Sharon Yoder, five brothers, Daniel, Jacob, William, Lonnie and John Plank and three sisters, Lizzie Miller, Barbara Mast and Anna Mae Miller.

Joni was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
