Judy Walters

JUDY WALTERS, 70, of Atwood, IL passed away at 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 9, 2013 at the United Church of Atwood, 210 North Main Street in Atwood, IL. Rev. Mike Drake will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the United Church of Atwood. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Judy was born on December 22, 1943 in Decatur, IL. She was a daughter of Leslie and Blanche (Cornwell) Harrison. She married Richard L. Walters on September 4, 1978 in Atwood, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Walters of Atwood, IL; two sons, Jeff Behrend and his wife Christie of Charleston, IL and Gregg Behrend and his wife Kelly of Louisville, KY; two step-children, Kevin Walters and his wife Genia of Rantoul, IL and Pam Walters of Monticello, IL; four grandchildren, Christian Behrend, Erica and Evan Behrend and Madison Walters and three brothers, Wayne Hale of Troy, IL, Gerald Hale and his wife B.J. of Arthur, IL and Norman Hale and his wife Shirley of Mt. Zion, IL.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jewell Pride.

Judy retired from the State Bank of Arthur in January of 2006 with over 44 years of service.

She has always enjoyed antiques so after she retired she and her husband established Rose Petal Antiques. They sold antiques at Paddy Wagon Antiques in Tuscola, IL and at Clinton Antique Mall in Clinton, IL as well as at many antique shows every year.

Antiques were her passion but family was her first love especially her grandchildren.
