Kathy Reece

KATHY J. REECE, 57, of Arcola, IL passed away at 7:35 P.M. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Mason Point in Sullivan, IL.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Father Barry Harmon will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the funeral home.

Kathy was born April 28, 1955 in Charleston, IL. She was a daughter of Maurice Rex and Rosemary (Jacob) Green. She married Charles Paul Reece September 8, 1983 in Arcola, IL. He passed away June 26, 1990.

She is survived by her daughter Sarah Medina and her husband Luis of Arcola, IL; her mother, Rosemary Boyer and her husband Baird of Arcola, IL; four brothers, Dennis Green of Tuscola, IL, Doug Green of Arcola, IL, Daron Green of Arcola, IL, Ken Green and his wife Lynn of Camargo, IL; one sister Marcy Green and her partner Gil Rich of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Cecilia, Victoria, Kaylee, Vicente, and Jada; three nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father, and grandparents.

After graduating from Centennial High School in 1973, Kathy went to Southern Illinois University. She was a volunteer at Arcola Elementary School and the Douglas County Mental Health Crisis Hotline in Tuscola.

She enjoyed being outdoors and loved spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren, and friends. Kathy was known for her warm, caring, and loving heart. Her home was the hub for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
