Katie Marner

KATIE MARNER, 82, of Chesterville, IL passed away at 9:10 A.M. on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the Pleasant View Church in rural Arcola, IL. Rev. Howard Kuhns officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant View Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Pleasant View Church in rural Arcola, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home assisted with funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Marner was born on August 12, 1928 in Saltillo, OH. She was a daughter of Valentine B. and Elizabeth (Erb) Beachy. She married John G. Marner on September 29, 1949 in Limpytown, OH. He passed away on November 8, 1985.

She is survived by five children, Andrew J. Marner and his wife Lynn of Arthur, IL, Valentine J. Marner and his wife Lydia of Arcola, IL, Daniel J. Marner and his wife Irene of Constantine, MI, Sarah Ann Marner-Tomm of Bement, IL and Dorothy Hostetler and her husband Reuben of Chesterville, IL; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben V. Beachy and his wife Dorothy of Fresno, OH and Atlee V. Beachy and his wife Patsy of Monroe, GA and one sister, Mary Ann Wolfer and her husband Leslie of McMinnville, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son-in-law Mark Edward Tomm, one brother Andrew V. Beachy and one sister Fannie Miller.

Mrs. Marner was a member of the Pleasant View Church in rural Arcola, IL

In Katie's home the coffee was always on and there was time for friends old or new.
