La-Vonne Elaine Jean, 69, of Arthur, IL went home to be with the Lord at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL following a lingering illness.
A memorial services celebrating her life in Christ will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the New Life Tabernacle in Sullivan, IL. Pastor Dave Dolan will officiate. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
LaVonne was born on November 17, 1940 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Jesse C. “Skip” and Verna Thelma (Davis) Jean. They preceded her in death.
She graduated from Arthur High School in 1959. LaVonne had worked at Moses Café in Arthur, the Beacon in Sullivan and Little Fuse in Arcola.
She loved her dogs, Rover, Boomer and Snowball. She loved crafts and had an eye for decorating.
She played the piano by ear and played the accordion. She attended the Arthur Mennonite Church and she was very grateful for all the work they did on her home. She also attended Cornerstone Fellowship and most recently was a member of the New Life Tabernacle in Sullivan.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal shelter, the American Diabetes Association or the New Life Tabernacle.
