Lena Schrock

LENA SCHROCK, 83 of Arthur, IL passed away at 8:20 A.M. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 477 IL 133 Arcola, IL and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church. Pastor Larry Rocke will officiate. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Lena was born on June 19, 1941, in Goshen, IN, a daughter of Jonas J. and Sylvia (Miller) Schrock. She married David D. Schrock on June 14, 1964, in Sarasota, FL.

She is survived by her husband David; four sons, LaVern Schrock and his wife Lisa of Arthur, IL, Mervin Schrock and his wife Denise LeBegue of St. Louis, MO, Vernon Schrock and his wife Joleen of Charlotte, NC, and Dennis Schrock and his wife LaDonna of Sullivan, IL; four grandsons, Dimitri James Schrock, Aaron David Schrock, Nikolas O’Faire Schrock, and Henry Arno Schrock; two sisters-in-law, Alice Schrock of Lagrange, IN, and Margaret Schrock of Ventura, CA, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, Daniel Schrock, Joe Schrock and his wife Marlene, Jake Schrock, Anna Chupp and her husband Elvin and Fannie Miller and her husband Reuben.

Lena taxied Amish for 39 years. She liked to quilt, crochet, making many lap blankets for residents of local nursing homes and shut ins. Lena also was a great cook, and she loved to write poetry, sing, and has written some songs.
