Leona M. Miller

Leona M. Miller, 44, of rural Tuscola, IL passed away from complications from cancer at 8:18 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Das Holz Haus Cabinet Shop, 573 N CR 325 E, rural Tuscola, IL. Bishop Larry Helmuth will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery in rural Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held any time after 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, and any time after 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, March 9, 2025 all Das Holz Haus. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Leona was born on September 8, 1980, the youngest daughter of Melvin Richard and Lydia Ann (Mast) Miller.

She is survived by her parents, Melvin and Lydia Miller of Tuscola, IL, two brothers, Lynn Miller and his wife Gracia of Arthur, and Matthew Miller and his wife Kathryn of Tuscola, IL; three sisters, Linda Yoder and her husband Mervin of Dixon, MO, Jo Ann Miller and her husband Willis of Windsor, MO, Janeen Schrock and her husband David of Pleasant Hill, IL; 32 nieces and nephews, and 54 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn brother, Christian, a stillborn niece Hannah Grace Miller, and stillborn great-nephew, David Yoder.

Leona taught at three different parochial schools, Plain View School, Okaw Valley School and Bear Creek School, before going to work as a secretary for Diener Tax Services.

Leona was a member of the Old Order Amish Church Faith.
