LEVI J. HOCHSTETLER, 80, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 11:55 P.M. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the LaVern Hochstetler residence, 311 E. C.R. 600 N, in rural Tuscola, IL. Bishop Sam Schrock officiated. Burial was in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation was any time prior to the funeral at the LaVern Hochstetler residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisted with arrangements.
Levi was born August 18, 1931 in Arthur, IL to Joe J. and Barbara (Kauffman) Hochstetler. He married Mary Schrock on March 13, 1951 in Arthur, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hochstetler of Tuscola, IL, three sons, LaVern Hochstetler and his wife Lorene of Tuscola, IL, Allen Hochstetler and his wife Barbara of Arcola, IL, and Robert Hochstetler and his wife Linda of Arcola, IL; one daughter, Marlene Miller and her husband Raymond of Arcola, IL; thirty-one grandchildren, and fifty-five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Saloma Stutzman of Arcola, IL and Susie Davis of Sullivan, IL; five brothers, Ammon Hochstetler and Lewis Hochstetler both of Nappanee, IN, Casper Hochstetler of Shipshewana, IN, Ora Hochstetler of West Farmington, OH and Monroe of Sullivan, IL and one sister-in-law, Wilma Hochstetler of Shipshewana, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Barbara Rose Hochstetler, three grandchildren, Elnora, Vernon and Leona Kay Hochstetler and three brothers, Roman, Perry and Enos Hochstetler.
Levi was retired from wood working.
Levi was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith.
