Lizzie Gingerich

Lizzie Marie (Miller) Gingerich, 83 years, 1 month and 12 days, of Arthur, IL passed away at 3:20 A.M. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Steve Kauffman residence, 491 North CR 100 East, Arthur, IL.  Bishop Eli Schlabauch will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Otto Cemetery.  Visitation will be held any time after 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Kauffman residence.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements

Lizzie was born on July 19, 1935.  She was a daughter of Menno S. and Fanny (Beachy) Miller.  She married widower, Merle A. Gingerich on April 12, 1996 in Arthur, IL.  They lived in matrimony for 22 years, 5 months and 18 days.

Survivors include her husband, Merle Gingerich of Arthur, IL, seven step children, Leonard Gingerich of Phoenix, AZ, Ira (Elsie Jess) Gingerich of Arthur, IL, Marion (Sovilla Helmuth) Gingerich of Arthur, IL, Paul Joseph (Carolyn Chupp) Gingerich of Atwood, IL, Laura Mae (Dave) Miller of Russellville, KY, Fannie Marie (Steve) Kauffman of Arthur, IL, and Phillip Ray (Elaine Fern Kauffman) Gingerich of Middlebury, IN; 34 step-grandchildren; 39 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ervin (Marlene) Miller of Elkhart, IN and Dave (Marty) Miller of Arthur, IL; one sister, Katie Ann (Emanuel) Troyer of Dundee, OH; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Harvey (Mary) Miller and Mrs. Alvin (Anna) Miller, both of Arthur, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, Jake Miller, Alvin Miller, Albert Miller, Steve Miller and Harvey Miller.

Lizzie was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
