Lorene Herschberger

Lorene C. Herschberger, 71 of Sullivan, IL passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 5:13 P.M. in Arthur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Paul O. Herschberger residence, 1553 CR 1275 N, Sullivan, IL.  Bishop Christy Diener will officiate.  Burial will be in the Herschberger Cemetery in rural Sullivan, IL.  Visitation will be anytime after 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Paul O. Herschberger residence.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Lorene was born on August 17, 1950 in Tuscola, IL.  She was a daughter of Chris N. and Lizzie Ann (Miller) Bontrager.  She married Oba C. Herschberger on November 7, 1968 in Tuscola, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Oba of Sullivan, IL, thirteen children, Paul Herschberger and his wife Rosanna of Sullivan, IL, Chris Herschberger of Trenton, MO, Duane Herschberger and his wife Sara of Milan, MO, Susanna Otto and her husband Clarence of Sullivan, IL, David Herschberger and his wife Edna Mae of Sullivan, IL, Joseph Herschberger of Muldrow, OK, Steven Herschberger at home, Rosanna Schrock and her husband Willard of Arthur, IL, Samuel Herschberger and his wife Laureen of Sullivan, IL, William Herschberger and his wife Rosanna of Sullivan, IL, John Herschberger and his wife Laura of Topeka, IN, Phillip Herschberger of Lansing, MI and Mary Anna Gingerich and her husband Mark of Sullivan, IL, 56 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brothers, Raymond Bontrager and his wife Ella of Arthur, IL, William Bontrager and his wife Fannie of Millersburg, OH, Irvin Bontrager and his wife Mary of Middlebury, IN and Sam Bontrager of Purdin, MO, sisters, Mattie Miller of Arthur, IL, Lizzie Diener of Humboldt, IL, Verna Bontrager of Sarasota, FL, Mary Chupp and her husband Lewis of Tuscola, IL, Clara Herschberger and her husband Nelson of Arcola, IL and Katie Helmuth of Glen Flora, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one stillborn grandson, one granddaughter, Hannah Grace Otto, brothers, Melvin, Levi and Eli Bontrager and sisters, Ida Otto, Edna Miller, Carrie Herschberger, Fannie Schrock and Anna Bontrager.

Lorene was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
