LOUISE CARSON, 87, of Arcola, IL passed away at 7:22 A.M. Friday, February 6, 2009 at Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Edwards Funeral Home 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL. Rev. Paul Etherton will officiate. A graveside committal service will be in the Price Cemetery in Oconee, IL at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 9, 2009. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home on Monday, February 9, 2009.
Louise was born December 11, 1921 in Oconee, IL. She was a daughter of Raymond Everett and Fannie Florence Price.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Carson of Champaign, IL, Robert Carson and his wife Kathy of Charleston, IL and Martin Carson and his wife Deb of Roseville, MN; one brother Wolford Price and his wife Jane of McLean, IL; one grandson Shad Huddleston and his wife Laura of Mattoon, IL; two great-grandchildren Maia and Nate Huddleston and her very good friend Lucille Frenchie Gillenwater.
One son Richard Carson; one sister Hope McAllister and three brothers Raymond Price, Ralph Price and 1 infant preceded her in death.
Louise was a member of the Arcola 1st Baptist Church and a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.
Louise taught Elementary School. She started in a country school near Moweaqua in the 1940s and later taught in Moweaqua. She quit teaching to raise her family and resumed teaching at Northward Elementary School in Tuscola where she retired in 1981.
She enjoyed reading, working word puzzles and needle work and spending time with her family and friends.
