LYDIA ANN GINGERICH, 97, of Arthur, IL passed away at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Melvin Gingerich residence, 199E CR 700N, Arthur, IL. Bishop Ervin Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery rural Arcola, IL. Visitation will be anytime after 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Melvin Gingerich residence. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Lydia was born on July 8, 1911 in Arthur, IL. She was a daughter of Eli and Amanda (Mast) Schrock. She married Emery Gingerich on December 17, 1931 in Arthur, IL. He passed away March 10, 1980.
Survivors include one son, Lester Gingerich and his wife, Edith, of Middlebury, IN; one daughter, Amanda Nisley and her husband, Albert “Red”, of Goshen, IN; one daughter-in-law, Maggie Gingerich of Tuscola, IL; five sisters, Sovilla Kauffman of Arthur, IL, Sadie Gingerich of Arthur, IL, Rebecca Miller of Arthur, IL, Gertie Mast and her husband, Dan, of Arthur, IL and Edna Herschberger and her husband, Levi, of Sullivan, IL; one sister-in-law, Clara Schrock of Arthur, IL; 15 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Emery Gingerich; one son, John E. Gingerich; six great-grandsons; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Amanda Miller and one brother, Levi Schrock preceded her in death.
Lydia was a member of the Old Order Amish faith.
