Margaret Biggs

MARGARET L. BIGGS, 88 of Arcola, IL passed away at 5:19 A.M. on Friday, August 03, 2012 at the Arcola Health Care Center in Arcola, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate. Burial will be in the Arcola cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on September 17, 1923 in Arcola, IL. She was a daughter of Lucius D. and Blanche (Fuller) Sylvester. She married Albert Allen Biggs on November 19, 1942 in Tuscola, IL. He passed away on November 5, 2001.

Survivors include one son, Richard Biggs and his wife Vickie of Arcola, IL; two granddaughters, Dena Eggers and her husband William of Toledo, IL and Darla Hackleman and her husband Damon of Champaign, IL; three great-granddaughters, Hannah Eggers of Toledo, IL and Courtney and Emma Hackleman both of Champaign, IL; one step great-granddaughter, Lacey Eggers of Toledo, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert and two brothers, Oscar and Russell Sylvester.

Margaret had worked at Vyverberg’s in Arcola, IL and Arrol’s Pharmacy in Arcola, IL. She was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church, the Moose and the Eagles in Mattoon, IL. She enjoyed going out to eat and playing bingo. She always loved dancing with her husband and spending time with family and friends.
