Mark Carpenter

MARK EUGENE CARPENTER, 88 of Utica, KY formerly of Humboldt, IL passed away at 8:25 A.M. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health Center in Owensboro, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, in Arcola, IL. Rev. Dale Tomas will officiate. Burial will be in the Humboldt Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until service time at the funeral home on Saturday, January 28, 2012.

Mark was born on June 11, 1923 in Arcola, IL. He was a son of Nathaniel and Cora (Hill) Carpenter. He married Vivia Rae Odell in 1948 she passed away in 2006.

Mark is survived by three children, Mike E. Carpenter of Muncie, IN, Toni Long and her husband Terry of Utica, KY and Monty N. Carpenter and his wife Linda of Cooks Mills, IL; six grandchildren, Nat Carpenter and Ross Carpenter and his wife Meredith, Guy Craig and Dana M. Long, and Hollie Lowes and her husband Bill and Sara Carpenter; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Craig, Vi N. Piper and Corey M. Long

Mark was a member of the Living Faith Baptist Church of Hartford, KY.

Mark was born and raised in the Humboldt area. He was a professional bus driver for several years.

He enjoyed hunting; fishing and he loved to tell a good story.

Memorials may be made to the hospice of the donor’s choice.
