Mark Evans

MARK DOUGLAS EVANS, 48, of Charleston, IL passed away at 8:59 A.M. on Monday, June 21, 2010 at his residence in Charleston, IL.

A gathering in honor of Mark was held by the family. The Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL is assisted with arrangements.

Mark was born on October 21, 1961 in Charleston, IL. He was a son of Harry Dale and Margaret Louise (Malcolm) Evans. He married Glenda Zeigler on June 3, 1979 in Charleston, IL.

Survivors include his wife Glenda Evans of Charleston, IL; two children, Bruce Evans and his wife Tiffany of Imperial Beach, CA and Shanon Brand and her husband John of Decatur, IL; one grandson Jace Evans of Imperial Beach, CA and a grandchild due in November; three brothers, Victor Evans and his wife Connie of Charleston, IL, Darrell Evans and his wife Linda of Lerna, IL and David Evans of Neoga, IL and his mother-in-law, Virginia Taylor of Mattoon, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, Larry Evans and two grandchildren, Lilee and William Evans.

Mark was a Marine Veteran. He was a member of the International Laborers Union of North America, Local 159 out of Decatur, IL and the NRA.

He was semi retired from construction work with over 29 years of service to the National Laborers Union of North America.

He enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.

In lieu of flowers memorial were made to The American Lung Association or the donor’s choice.
