Martha Wingler

MARTHA GERALDINE (ANDREWS) WINGLER, 81, of Arcola, IL passed away at 5:40 P.M. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Gowin Parc Memory Care in Mattoon, IL.

Martha was born on December 27, 1932 in Tuscola, IL. She was the daughter of Gerald R. Andrews and Martha A. (Marley) Andrews. She married Paul A. Wingler, Jr. on March 15, 1957 in Paris, IL. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2012.

She is survived by her son, Jay D. Wingler and wife Carol of Elkhorn, NE; daughter Paula Miller and husband Dave of Durango, CO; grandchildren Austen J. Wingler and Megan K. Wingler; half-sister Linda K. (Belles) Williams of Kearney, NE; and half-brothers John C. Andrews and Charles K. Andrews, both of Raleigh, NC.

Martha served as president of the Douglas County Homemakers Extension Association from 1970-72, was a 4-H leader for many years, and also worked in the Douglas County area as a secretary, bookkeeper, bank teller, and part-time librarian.

She enjoyed reading, genealogy, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14, 2014 in the Arcola Cemetery. Rev. Donald Winch will officiate.
