Mary Brazzle

MARY ANN BRAZZLE, 72, of Onaga, KS, passed away at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her son’s residence in Tuscola, IL.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St. in Arcola, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. Pastor Pat Fail will officiate. Burial will be held in the Olive Hill Cemetery in Soldier, KS.

Mary Ann was born on July 10, 1943 in Wiggins, MS. She was a daughter of William Travis and Annie Marilyn (Madden) Cooley. She married Bobby Eugene Brazzle on January 22, 1983 in Belvue, KS. He passed away on March 21, 2009.

She is survived by six children, Robin McConnell and her husband Johnnie of Wetmore, KS, Robert Stewart and his wife Sherri of Tuscola, IL, Shane Stewart of Tuscola, IL, Paula Stewart and Jerry Messer of Appleton, WI, Trina Stewart of Tolono, IL and Brian Brazzle and his wife Brenda of Virginia Beach, VA, 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, five brothers, Bill Beatty and his wife Jacque of Tucson, AZ, Rick Beatty and his wife Diana of Netawaka, KS, John Beatty and his wife Bert of Belvue, KS, Bruce Beatty and his wife Darlene of Onaga, KS and Jimmy Beatty and his wife Betty of Tucson, AZ, and one sister Hope Bergstresser and her husband Jim of Whiting, KS.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Travis Cooley, her mother, Marilyn Jackson, her step-father, James Elmer Beatty and her husband Bobby Eugene Brazzle.

Mary Ann attended Atwood-Hammond High School in Illinois. She attended the First Baptist Church in Onaga, KS.

She had worked as a nurse’s aid for many years and she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and shopping.
