MARY LOUISE LITTLE, 87, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 7:40 P.M. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Newman Health Care Center in Newman, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Rev. Duane Piercy will officiate. Burial will be in the Broadus Cemetery in rural Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
Mary was born on October 5, 1923 in rural Tuscola area. She was a daughter of George and Pauline (Cottingham) Fullerton. She married Phillip Hagel in Chicago, IL in 1947. She later married Homer Little on January 6, 1978 at the Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church. He passed away on November 12, 1999.
She is survived by one step-son, Glen Little and his wife Marilyn of Tuscola, IL; two grandchildren, Richard G. Little of Tuscola, IL and Mrs. Doug (Sheri Marie) Evans of Tuscola, IL; four great-grandchildren, Tamara Marie Little, Brooke Ashley Little, Brandon Douglas Evans and Cole Patrick Evans and one step-great-grandson, Derek Paul Evans.
She was preceded in death by her parents husband and one brother Albert and one sister Betty.
Mary graduated from Tuscola High School in 1941. She worked and lived in Chicago and was employed as a data processor for 27 years at National Tea Company and later at Sears Roebuck and Company. She was a member of the Mt Gilead United Methodist Church and was treasurer for the Mt. Gilead United Methodist Women. Mary was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and she supported the Fighting Illini teams. Mary loved animals; especially cats and she took in many strays, fed them, cared for them and gave them a safe and loving home. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and working in the yard.
Memorial may be made to the Douglas County Museum.
