Melvin Miller

Melvin L. Miller, 58, of Arthur, IL passed away at 10:44 P.M. on July 11, 2021, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Penn Station in Arthur, IL.  Rev. John Stewart will officiate.  Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Penn Station in Arthur, IL.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Melvin was born on March 23, 1963, in Washington County, IA.  He was a son of Henry W. and Ada (Miller) Miller. He married Teresa Linn Richardson on March 7, 1992, in Arthur, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa of Arthur, IL, four children, Lisa Miller and her boyfriend Justin Helm of Mt. Zion, IL, Chastity Cazel and her husband James of New Orleans, LA, Heather Miller and Kodi Miller, both of Arthur, IL, six grandchildren, Aiden, Addison and Alexis Cazel, Bentley and Devyn Peeler and Easton Helm, eight siblings, Bertha Miller of Loudon, TN, Barbara Herschberger and her husband Menno of Arthur, IL, Linda Miller of Arthur, IL, Darla Nicholson of Indianapolis, IN, Glen Miller and his wife Linda of Hollman, WI, June Hawk of Sevierville, TN, Edna Eheart of Arthur, IL and Kenny Miller of St. Joseph, IL, mother-in-law, Tonia Richardson of Shelbyville, IL and his beloved dog, Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Russell E. Richardson, one grandson, Corbin Levi Miller, and three brothers-in-law, Clyde Nicholson, Warren Eheart and Russell G. Richardson.

Melvin worked at Masterbrand in Arthur, IL for 32 years and most recently taxied Amish for the past year.

He enjoyed watching “The Big Bang Theory”, riding his Harley Davidson, a 2007 Sportster.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
