Melvin J Yoder

Melvin J. Yoder, 79 years, 8 months and 18 days of Arthur, IL passed away at 1:24 P.M. on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his residence.   

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the his residence, 18344 N CR 200 E in rural Arthur, IL.  Bishop Ervin Eugene Miller will officiate.  Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL.  Visitation will be held after 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2022 and any time after 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 all at the family residence.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  

Melvin was born on September 4, 1942 in rural Arthur, IL.   He was a son of Joseph A. and Susanna N. (Mast) Yoder.

Survivors include one brother Abraham Yoder of Milton, IA, three sisters-in-law, Elsie Yoder of Arcola, IL, Wilma Yoder of Crab Orchard, KY and Martha Yoder of Milton, IA and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

His siblings Noah Yoder, Ervin Yoder and his wife Mattie, Lucy Schrock and her husband Harvey, Anna Yoder and husbands David Stutzman and Levi Beachy, Eli Yoder and Fred Yoder and one sister-in-law Barbara Yoder (wife of Abraham) preceded him in death.

Melvin was a farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
