MILDRED L. CLARK, 81, of Arcola, IL passed away at 3:30 P.M. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral Services were held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the First Christian Church, 311 East Main, Arcola, IL. Rev. Harold Williamson officiated. Burial was in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main, Arcola, IL.

Mildred was born on February 8, 1929 in Normal, IL. She was a daughter of Cecil Ray and Harriet M. (Hovey) Wiggle. She married Homer L. Clark on November 15, 1947 in Newton, IL.

She is survived by her husband Homer Clark of Arcola, IL; five children, Robert Clark and his wife Linda of Arcola, IL, Janet Clark of Arcola, IL, David Clark and his wife Pam of Arcola, IL, Judy Schmitt of Springfield and Linda Beaty of Arcola, IL; seven granddaughters, Tisha Goad and her husband Jason of Arcola, IL Jodie Pantier and her husband Chad of Bossier City, LA, Erin Maher and her husband Chauncey IV of Carlisle, PA, Lesley Baker and her husband Dustin of Mattoon, IL, Haley Campbell and her husband Drew of Mattoon, IL, Hannah Clark and Rhett Simpson of Villa Grove, IL and Leah Clark of Arcola, IL; seven great-grandchildren, Macey and Abby Goad, Dalton and Chloe Pantier, Chauncey Maher V, Avery Baker, Johnathon Maurer and one precious great-granddaughter on the way; two sisters, Dorothy Beam and her husband Laurence of Newton, IL and Mary Ellyn Ragsdale and her husband Jack of Wheeler, IL; sister-in-laws, Donna Wiggle of Lake City, IL and Virginia Wigall of Arthur, IL Thelma Clark of Arcola, IL and Debbie Clark of Arcola, IL and one brother-in-law Bob Clark and his wife Barb of Arcola, IL.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Wigall, Gene Wigall and Charles Wiggle, two brother-in-laws Dale Clark and Wayne Clark and one sister-in-law Roberta Eaton

Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church of Arcola, IL where she taught Sunday School to all ages for 50 plus years, and had been a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, Arcola-Filson and also served as State President and State Treasurer.

She worked as a school cook at the Arcola School for many years.
