Mildred Moore

MILDRED LOUISE MOORE, 89, of Cooks Mills, IL passed away at 9:38 A.M. on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Mattoon Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main in Arcola, IL.   Rev. Paul Weber will officiate.   Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cooks Mills.   Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Mildred was born on December 22, 1927 in Coles County, IL.  She was a daughter of James Stroud and Nell A. (Funkhouser) Floyd.   She married Lawrence William Moore on December 2, 1966 in Mattoon, IL.  He passed away on April 16, 2011.

She is survived by nephews Scott Floyd of Mattoon, IL and Tim Floyd and his wife Cathy of Sullivan, IL, Roger L. Moore, John W. Moore and his wife Tina all of Cooks Mills, IL and William Moore of Mattoon, IL, a niece, Becky Rice and her husband Randall of Charleston, IL and several other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Marjorie E. Walden and one brother James Keith Floyd.

She was a member of the Cooks Mills Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Mildred retired from Brown Shoe Company.

She enjoyed gardening and square dancing.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cooks Mills.
