Mildred Snyder

MILDRED SNYDER, 82, of Arthur, IL passed away at 5:37 A.M. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Arthur Home in Arthur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Arthur, IL. Rev. John Stewart will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Mildred was born on March 7, 1931 in Scottsville, KY. She was a daughter of William Oscar and Rachel Angeline (Stinson) Jent. She married Henry A. Snyder on September 13, 1947 in Arcola, IL. He passed away on December 9, 1996.

She lives on in the hearts of her family which includes two sons, Tony Snyder and his wife Kaye of Findlay, IL and Barry Snyder and his wife Vickie of Arthur, IL; four grandchildren, Christopher Snyder of Findlay, IL, Rachel Snyder and her husband Allen Kondrup of Wallingford, CT, Shawn Snyder and his wife Doni of Mattoon, IL and Andy Snyder of Arthur, IL; seven great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Duncan, Kayla, Alex, Christopher, Zach and Kaden. Millie valued all of her family and had a special bond with many of them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six sisters and two brothers.

Mildred touched countless lives in her many years as a resident of Arthur while working at the Arthur IGA and other local businesses.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arthur, IL.
