Milton Miller

MILTON L. MILLER, 87, of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:09 P.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting Milton’s family with funeral arrangements.

Milton was born on March 6, 1922 in Coles County, IL. He was a son of Levi B. and Rebecca (Schrock) Miller. He married Lydia Mae Diener on September 17, 1942 in Moultrie County, IL.

In addition to his wife survivors include six children, Anna Nolt of Quakertown, PA, Betty Laverne Nevels of Jackson, MS, Carolyn Gingerich of Larkspur, CO, Dorothy Hartman of Harrisonburg, VA, Ellen Damoth of Kodak, TN and Floyd Miller of Arcola, IL; a foster son, Virgil Dean Gilbert of Motley, MN; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother Melvin Miller of Ava, IL and a sister, Laura Bontrager of Kokomo, IN.

He was preceded in death two brothers and two sisters.

Milton was a retired farmer in the area and he was a member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church.
