NEDA BETH (CROWE) GREATHOUSE, 59, of Arthur, IL passed away at 4:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Vine Street Christian Church, Arthur, IL. Rev. Dawn Ingram will officiate. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2014 and from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2014 all at the Vine Street Christian Church, Arthur, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Neda Greathouse Memorial Fund at the State Bank of Arthur.
Neda was born on July 15, 1954 in Tompkinsville, KY. She was a daughter of McKinley and Estline (Likens) Crowe. She married James W. Greathouse on January 5, 1970 in Gallatin, TN.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Greathouse of Arthur, IL; two daughters, Tracey Greathouse (Jay) of Arthur, IL and Katey Custer (Tyler) of Arthur, IL; five granddaughters, Rebecca Greathouse, McKayla Custer, Chloe Custer, Emeline Greathouse and Anabella Custer all of Arthur, IL; her mother, Estline Crowe of Arthur, IL; three brothers, Jimmie Crowe (Barb) of Mattoon, IL, David Crowe (Terri) of Charleston, IL and Danny Crowe (Brenda) of Bowling Green, KY; one sister, Shelia Crowe of Arthur, IL; one brother-in-law, Danny Greathouse (Brenda) of Fountain Run, KY and many beloved nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Neda was preceded in death by her father, McKinley Crowe, brother, Donald Crowe and a brother-in-law, Mark Greathouse.
Neda was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur, IL.
She was a very special lady, affectionately known as Mom to many. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughters.
The family also plans to host a celebration of life service in July in Fountain Run, KY.
