NOAH E. HERSCHBERGER, 96 of Arcola, IL formerly of Humboldt, IL passed away at 4:30 A.M. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at his residence in rural Arcola, IL.
Funeral services were held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Jacob Stutzman residence, 423 North County Road 400 East in rural Arcola, IL. Jacob Stutzman officiated. Burial was in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation was any time after Noon on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Jacob Stutzman residence. The Edwards Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
Noah was born on February 19, 1916 in Arthur, IL. He was a son of Eli C. and Lydia (Miller) Herschberger. He married Tillie Mast on January 11, 1940 in Arthur, IL. They lived in Holy Matramony for 72 years.
He is survived by his wife Tillie Herschberger of Arcola, IL; eight children, Willis Herschberger and his wife Rachel of Windsor, MO, Sarah Mae Stutzman and her husband Marvin of Sullivan, IL, Elva Herschberger and his wife, Edna Viola of Humboldt, IL, Fannie Beiler and her husband Arthur of Paradise, PA, Ervin Herschberger and his wife Irlene of Mt. Vernon, MO, Andy Ray Herschberger and his wife Ada Fern of Windsor, MO, Ruth Ann Stutzman and her husband Willard of Arcola, IL and Perry Herschberger and his wife Delores of McBain, MI; 67 grandchildren, 198 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four brothers, Jake, Chris, John and Harvey Herschberger and two sisters, Polly Schlabach and Susie Herschberger.
Noah was a member of the Old Order Amish Faith. He was a life-long farmer, a rug weaver and he served as a minister.
