Norman Plank

NORMAN J. PLANK, 73, of rural Arcola, IL passed away at 8:55 A.M. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Oba Yoder residence, 18338 N CR 200 E in rural Arthur, IL.   Bishop Joe A. Mast will officiate.   Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL.   Visitation will be any time after 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Oba Yoder residence.   The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Norman was born on April 1, 1944 in Arthur, IL, a son of Jacob M. and Lizzie (Yoder) Plank.   He married Emma Mae Schrock, a daughter of Jacob A. and Amanda Schrock on November 24, 1966 in Millersburg, IN.   They lived in Holy Matrimony for 50 years 11 months and 11 days.

Norman is survived by his wife, Emma, 7 sons and 1 daughter; Roman Plank and his wife Norma of Shipshewana, IN, Martin Plank and his wife Wanda of Arthur, IL, Elmer Plank and his wife Tina of Kendallville, IN, Leon Plank and Orie Plank both of Arthur, IL, Esther Miller and her husband Ammon of Arcola, IL, Arlin Plank and his wife Marnita of Lovington, IL and Andy Plank and his wife Nancy of Arthur, IL; 22 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and 1 sister, Lonnie Plank, Ivan Plank and his wife Clara Mae, Orie Plank and his wife Barbara all of Arthur, IL, Jerry Plank of Westmorland, TN, and Lucy Stutzman of Sullivan, IL; 2 brothers-in-law, Joseph C. Borntreger of Centreville, MI and Andy Jess and his wife Viola of Arthur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mary Ann Borntreger, Martha Kuhns and Vera Mae Jess and one brother-in-law Roman Kuhns.

Norman was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
