PAMELA SUE LEIBENGOOD, 58, of Decatur, IL passed away at 2:29 A.M. on Friday, June 12, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at GT Church 500 South 27th Street in Decatur, IL. Pastor B.G. Nevitt will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 15, 2009 at GT Church. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting Pamela’s family with arrangements.
Pamela was born on May 23, 1951 in Decatur, IL. She was a daughter of Robert Dale and Agnes (West) Walley. She married Gary L. Leibengood on May 23, 1981 in Decatur, IL
She is survived by her husband Gary Leibengood of Decatur, IL; one son, George E. Strohl and his wife Leslie of Mt. Zion, IL; three grandchildren, Morgan, Hannah and Ethan Strohl; one nephew, Robert O’Brien and wife, Laurie of Grass Valley, CA and two nieces, Carrie (O’Brien) Burgess and husband, Kenneth of Allen, TX, and Ginger (O’Brien) Thornell and husband, Jim of San Jose, CA; great-nieces and nephews, Jolene (Hartzell) Lund and husband, Scott of Cokato, MN, Alison (Hartzell) Franklin and husband, Gabe of Gresham, OR, Heather (Burgess) McLaren and husband, Derrick of Denison, TX, Edward Thornell of San Jose, CA, Chad Burgess of Denton, TX, Kimberly (Thornell) Shiveley and husband, Donovan of San Jose, CA, Andrea O'Brien of Grass Valley, CA; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Wesley, Emma, Austin, and William Lund, of Cokato, MN, Annika, Emily, and Ethan Franklin of Gresham, OR and Luke McLaren of Denison, TX
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Audrey West and Shirley Walley; her daughter Kendra Leibengood and a niece, Joy (O’Brien) Hartzell
Pamela worked at Jewell Osco in Decatur for over twenty years and most recently was employed at Lowe’s in Decatur, IL.
She was a loving wife and mother and though we will all miss her, so much we are happy knowing that she has reunited with Kendra in heaven and that she is finally at peace.
