Patricia Barnes

PATRICIA BARNES, 78, of Arcola, IL passed away at 12:07 A.M. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Arcola Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL.   Rev. Kent Conover will officiate.   Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home on Monday.

Patricia was born on October 7, 1938 in Tompkinsville, KY.   She was the daughter of Pearl and Ruie (Hall) Howard.   She married Jack Bennie Barnes on March 29, 1973 in Nashville, TN.

She is survived by her husband Jack, one son, Andee Haney and his wife Pam of Mattoon, IL; one daughter, Melissa Snodgrass and her husband Kevin of Mt. Zion, IL; one granddaughter, Sarah Snodgrass of Champaign, IL; four step-children, Cheryl Marti and her husband Craig of Fairview, IL, Bennie Barnes, Philip Barnes and his wife JoElla all of Arcola, IL and Bill Barnes and his wife Tammi of Riverton, IL; three step-grandchildren, Misty Shirar and her husband Chad of Nashville, TN, Taysha Barnes of Springfield, IL and Kayli Barnes of Arcola, IL and five step-great-grandchildren, Caleb, Canaan, Kinsley, Carter and Cason Shirar all of Nashville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Alfred Howard.

Patricia graduated from Tuscola High School in 1956.   She was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church in Arthur, IL.   She owned and operated the Paper Back Book Store in Arcola, IL for 38 years.   Patricia loved to read, travel and spend time with family and friends especially her grandchildren.
