Patrick Murphy

PATRICK M. “PAT” MURPHY 59, of Arcola, IL passed away at 2:40 A.M. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Arcola Health Care Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Edwards Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Winch will officiate. Burial with military rites conducted by the Arcola VFW will be held in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Pat was born on December 13, 1950 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of Floyd W. “Bud” and Lucille F. (Lear) Murphy.

He is survived by three daughters, Kelli Patton and her husband Trent of Hindsboro, IL, Michelle Stumeier and her husband David of Tuscola, IL and Tricia Grant and her husband Joe of Fort Leonardwood, Mo; six grandchildren and a very special friend Marlene Snyder and her husband Mick of Arcola, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Timothy Allen “Tim” Murphy.

Pat was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He had been an assistant chief of police in Arcola, IL; he worked at Kraft Foods in Champaign, IL, Ray and Kay in Arcola, IL and Wal-Mart in Savoy, IL.

He was a member of the Arcola Presbyterian Church and had served as a deacon and elder.

He was a Chicago Cub and Chicago Bear fan.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of the Arcola Presbyterian Church.
