Philip Hoyt Blaase, 77, of Arcola, IL passed away at 4:30 P.M. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) on Friday February 25, 2022, at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Rev, Brent Budd will officiate. Burial will be in the Bourbon Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Phil was born December 13, 1944, in Tuscola, IL to Hoyt and Alliece Blaase. He graduated from Arcola High School in 1963, Phil attended Eureka College where he played football and later transferred to Eastern Illinois University to continue his college education.
Phil married Judy Albin, his high school sweetheart, on August 7, 1965; she passed away on February 10, 2022.
Phil is survived by one daughter, Angela Clark, and her husband Bryan, three granddaughters Kylee Herschberger, and her husband Derrick, Lexee Clark and Laynee Clark and her fiancé, Tim Bridges, two great grandchildren, Raegan, and Camden Herschberger, one brother, Mike Blaase, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Phil is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt & Alliece, his wife Judy, and his in-laws, Charles, and Kate Albin.
Phil worked as a crop insurance salesman for most of his life. He also owned a Western wear store in Arthur, IL for some time. Phil loved participating in 4H and various other horse shows with his daughter. Phil enjoyed coaching his daughter and her friends in softball over the years, and then eventually attending many sporting events for his three granddaughters. Phil also enjoyed cheering on his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers and watching any kind of rodeo event.
Phil and Judy enjoyed many vacations to Bennet Springs State Park, where Phil was able to spend his days fishing. Phil was also an avid deer hunter and enjoyed being outdoors and hunting with his friends and son-in-law, Bryan. Phil enjoyed helping with the handicapped hunt project in Shelbyville, IL for many years. In the winters, Phil and Judy enjoyed getting away to Arizona or Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Arcola School Special Education Program.
